DESCRIPTION:
Join us for a screening and discussion of Graciela Iturbide, a documentary about the internationally acclaimed photographer's life and work. The film was directed by Lucía Gajá and produced by Arturo Ripstein. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Iturbide.

This event is presented in partnership between USC and the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles. A new annual program, Cátedra México will bring a distinguished artist from Mexico to USC for a one-week residency, sharing work and interacting with students and the broader community. The inaugural Cátedra México will feature Graciela Iturbide, a world-renowned photographer who has had solo exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Getty Museum, among others. Iturbide was born in 1942 in Mexico City. She has been honored around the world, with a Guggenheim fellowship, the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie Award, the Hasselblad Award, and the National Prize of Sciences and Arts in Mexico City.
