DESCRIPTION:
We all have stories, voices, and gifts to share. But when dealing with the challenges and stress of being students, we often lose sight of this.

Share your experiences and connect with others in a new series of workshops that use Council, a group practice rooted in empathic listening and speaking from the heart. Facilitated by USC professors Alison Trope (Communication) and Holly Willis (Cinematic Arts), the workshops will help you find joy and support through student-led storytelling and creative expression. Each workshop will feature acclaimed artists in dance, theatre, and the visual arts, who will inspire instinctive creativity and build community.

The Council and Gestural Painting Workshop will feature visual artist Claudia Concha, an intuitive painter who says, “The gap between what you feel and what you express, that’s where we tend to feel the deepest, that’s where the creation starts.” She will guide students through an exuberant form of painting based on intuitive expression, gesture, and soul-centered wisdom that will all arise spontaneously.
