*This trip is for current USC students only. You must use the provided transportation to participate. Space is limited and advance registration is required. RSVP beginning Tuesday, August 29, at 9 a.m. Check-in for the event will begin at 2:15 p.m. on campus. Buses will depart at 3 p.m. and return to campus at 7:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided at check-in.

The Echo Theater Company presents Fixed, a fierce and funny new play by L.A.’s own Boni B. Alvarez about Miracles Malcañang, a drag queen working in the infamous Malcañang Massage Parlor in Historic Filipinotown. When Miracles’ forbidden love affair sparks tensions within the city’s hottest political family, two families must come together to understand the power of desire, identity, and honor.

About the Artists:

Boni B. Alvarez’s plays have been produced and/or developed at theatres including Playwrights’ Arena, Skylight Theatre, and Los Angeles Theatre Center. The winner of InterAct Theatre’s 20/20 Development Award and the 2g National Ten-Minute Play Contest, Alvarez holds an MFA in acting from the American Repertory Theatre/MXAT Institute at Harvard University and an MFA in dramatic writing from USC.

The Echo Theater Company supports playwrights and new theatrical works. The company has presented 60 Los Angeles premieres, including 48 world premieres. Echo productions introduced Los Angeles to Sarah Ruhl, David Lindsay-Abaire, Adam Rapp, and many others.
