Take a trip to see the acclaimed Gustavo Dudamel conduct the Los Angeles Philharmonic in an incredible program featuring compositions by Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev. Violinist Lisa Batiashvili’s passionate and poetic approach is ideally suited to Tchaikovsky’s thrilling Romantic Violin Concerto. With its wonderfully dancing tunefulness and vivid orchestration, Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet score proves a worthy successor to Tchaikovsky’s ballet music. The program also includes Alfred Schnittke’s (K)ein Sommernachtstraum.
Program:
Schnittke: (K)ein Sommernachtstraum
Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto
Prokofiev: Selections from Romeo and Juliet
