Join us for a presentation and panel featuring Dr. Karen Tang, board-certified gynecologist, surgeon, and digital health trailblazer who’s using TikTok, podcasting, and short-form video to fight reproductive health misinformation and break the silence around “taboo” topics. With millions of social media views and her book, It’s Not Hysteria: Everything You Need to Know about Your Gynecologic Health (But Were Never Told), Dr. Tang is proof that social media can be a force for truth, equity, and empowerment in healthcare.
Dr. Tang is an internationally recognized leader in reproductive health. She lectures across the country on issues such as period health, pelvic pain, gender affirming healthcare, the intersection of racism and health, and the utilization of social media in healthcare, and has been featured in numerous media outlets, including the Washington Post, Self Magazine, HuffPost, and NPR. She is a pioneer in the utilization of social media for reproductive health education and outreach, public-health messaging in the context of the COVID pandemic, and advocacy for LGBTQIA+ healthcare. She is active on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube as KarenTangMD, with more than 400,000 followers and over 65 million views on TikTok. She has gained a devoted following as a speaker and educator by breaking down medically and emotionally complex topics in an easily understandable, dynamic, and entertaining way.
