DESCRIPTION:
Join us to learn about essential tools to navigate the creative industry, from dance to music, acting, and more, in a healthy and sustainable manner. As leaders in their respective fields, Maroon 5 founding drummer Ryan Dusick, Dancing with the Stars judge Camilla Sacre-Dallerup, and esteemed researchers Paula Thomson and Jodi Milstein, will dissect the intricacies of mental health in entertainment, integrating research-backed applications for students to utilize in their professional careers. Diving even deeper, the speakers will offer their extensive, firsthand experiences in the industry, and share candid insights empowering students to use their platforms wholistically and with a focus on social advocacy.

Bios:

Ryan Dusick is the founding drummer of Maroon 5 and a licensed therapist, speaker, and author of Harder to Breathe: A Memoir of Making Maroon 5, Losing It All, & Finding Recovery. With his time spent in the music industry and as a life coach and registered therapist, Ryan is highly equipped to provide uniquely crafted experiences which are guaranteed to uplift an audience.

Jodi Milstein is a licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed professional clinical counselor, and founder of RockStarTherapy, a division of her psychotherapy practice focused on working with musicians, artists, bands, crew, managers, agents, producers, and others in music. Prior to training as a therapist, Jodi worked in the music industry at A&M Records music management in the ’90s and early 2000s. 

Camilla Sacre-Dallerup is a former professional dancer who shined on Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars in the U.K. and New Zealand. Now the bestselling author of It’s Not You, It’s Me; Reinvent ME; and Dream, Believe, Succeed, Camilla is a life coach specializing in subconscious work through hypnosis and meditation.

Paula Thompson is a professor of Kinesiology at California State University, Northridge, co-author of Creativity and the Performing Artist: Behind the Mask and Creativity, Trauma, and Resilience, and member of the International Association of Dance Medicine & Science.
