Emily Silverman is an internal medicine physician at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the creator and host of the acclaimed medical storytelling live show The Nocturnists. In an intimate talk, she will discuss the origin of the Nocturnists podcast and how storytelling provides an avenue to physician self-care and re-centers the dialogic work at the heart of healing encounters, followed by an exploration of topics featured in her recently completed series, Shame in Medicine: The Lost Forest, and a Q&A.
