The final event of SAGE’s Body Love Month initiative features Yesika Salgado. The noted poet and body positivity activist will read some of her most important pieces, addressing her Salvadoran background, journey towards fat acceptance, and more. Afterward, Salgado will discuss how writing has helped her forge her own narratives, disrupt representations of plus-sized and fat bodies, and promote body love and liberation in a moderated discussion led by Vanessa Villarreal, award-winning poet and Ph.D. in Creative Writing & Literature at USC Dornsife.

Organized by the Student Assembly for Gender Empowerment. Co-sponsored by USC Visions and Voices: The Arts and Humanities Initiative, Speakers Committee, the USC Latinx Student Assembly, and the Department of Gender and Sexuality Studies.
