DESCRIPTION:
Ruben Santiago-Hudson is one of the most accomplished theatre artists of his generation. In conversation with USC professor David Román, the Tony Award–winning actor, playwright, and director will discuss his inspirations and accomplishments, including the revival of his Obie Award–winning Lackawanna Blues at the Mark Taper Forum.

Bio:
Ruben Santiago-Hudson is an actor, writer, and stage director who has won national awards for his work in all three categories. His film and television credits include American Gangster, Billions, Castle, Coming to America, Law & Order, Shaft, and many others. Broadway credits include Seven Guitars (Tony Award, Best Featured Performer), Jelly’s Last Jam, and Gem of the Ocean with Phylicia Rashad. He has been awarded the Humanitas Prize in writing for the HBO film adaptation of his play Lackawanna Blues, the Lucille Lortel Award and Obie Award for Outstanding Direction, and the NAACP Lifetime Achievement Theatre Award.
