DESCRIPTION:
USC students are invited to experience The Great Wall of Los Angeles firsthand and gain a fuller appreciation for the power of public art and the stories it tells. Artists from the Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) will lead a walking tour of Judy Baca’s stunning, half-mile-long collaborative artwork that is one of the longest murals in the world. The artists will share their perspectives on the vibrant and expansive panels of the iconic Great Wall, which was started in 1974 and is noted for capturing the diverse cultural heritage, social movements, and rich history of California and Los Angeles, and provide insight on sections that are currently in progress.
