DESCRIPTION:
Join the USC Roski School of Art and Design for a talk with Legacy Russell, writer, artist, and associate curator of exhibitions at the Studio Museum in Harlem. Russell’s exhibitions and projects have shown at the Studio Museum, MoMA PS1, and ICA London, and her written work, interviews, and essays have been published internationally. Her first book, Glitch Feminism: A Manifesto (2020), is published by Verso Books.

Russell holds a dual major BA with honors in art history and studio art and English and creative writing with a focus in gender studies from Macalester College, and an MRes with distinction in art history with a focus in visual culture from Goldsmiths, University of London. Russell’s academic, curatorial, and creative work focuses on gender, performance, digital selfdom, Internet idolatry, and new media ritual. She is the recipient of the Thoma Foundation 2019 Arts Writing Award in Digital Art and is a 2020 Rauschenberg Residency Fellow.
