DESCRIPTION:
Join USC professor and internationally known ceramicist Karen Koblitz for a guided tour of the USC Pacific Asia Museum’s exhibition China Trade: Global Market & Chinese Ceramics, followed by a hands-on workshop in decorating ceramics. Taking inspiration from the exhibition, participants will apply blue patterning onto the surface of readymade ceramic forms. The pieces will be glazed and fired for pickup at a future date. Koblitz will also offer insights about Asian trade ware and how it has influenced other cultures.

This event is presented in conjunction with the USC Pacific Asia Museum’s exhibition China Trade: Global Market & Chinese Ceramics, on view at Doheny Memorial Library from March 2 to August 6, 2017.
