Visions and Voices is providing transportation to Art Division for students without means to travel to the workshop location. The bus will depart from USC at 4:45 p.m. and return to campus following the workshop. Transportation info will be provided when you RSVP.

DESCRIPTION:
Join Mexican artist Sebastián for an interactive workshop where he will discuss and demonstrate his “transformable” sculptures. By folding strips of paper in various ways, he will increase our understanding of topological space in relation to the Möbius strip. Active since the 1960s, Sebastián has made more than 200 steel and concrete sculptures, including colossal Gates (Puertas) in his home country of Mexico; city symbols in Sakai and Kadoma, Japan; and the famous Caballito in Mexico City. Sebastián is the 2018 Cátedra México visiting artist. Each year, a distinguished artist from Mexico spends a week at USC in a residency called Cátedra México, a joint initiative of USC and the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles.
