DESCRIPTION:
Artist and podcast producer Nigel Poor will present a special workshop for students on developing creative media projects in partnership with underserved communities. Poor is one of the creators behind Ear Hustle, an acclaimed podcast produced inside San Quentin that showcases stories about life behind bars.



Bio:
Nigel Poor
is a visual artist whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She is a professor of photography at California State University, Sacramento. In 2011, Poor got involved with San Quentin State Prison as a volunteer professor for the Prison University Project. In 2013, she started working with a group of incarcerated men producing a radio project called The San Quentin Prison Report. She is the co-creator, co-producer, and co-host of the Ear Hustle podcast.
