Where do Visions and Voices events take place?
A. Most events take place at venues throughout USC’s University Park Campus. A few events are held at the Health Sciences Campus. Experience L.A. events are for current USC students only and take place throughout Southern California. Students must use the provided transportation to attend an Experience L.A. event.
TICKETS & RESERVATIONS
Do I need to make a reservation to attend an event?
Reservations are required to attend most Visions and Voices events. For events that are not full, tickets will be available at the door. For events that are full, tickets will be available at the event check-in on a standby basis.
How and when can I make a reservation?
Event reservations open approximately three to four weeks before an event, and are accepted online only. View the individual event listing on the Visions and Voices website for ticketing and reservation requirements. Select the appropriate link to RSVP: USC student, staff, and faculty; USC alumni; or general public. Please note that some Visions and Voices events that are organized by the USC School of Cinematic Arts and the USC Thornton School of Music, as well as our “affiliated events,” may have different reservation or ticketing policies.
How much are tickets?
Visions and Voices events are free for current USC students, staff, and faculty. Admission prices vary for non-USC students, though most events are also free to the general public. See the individual event listings on the Visions and Voices website for specific ticketing requirements.
I can no longer attend the event and I paid for a ticket. Are tickets refundable?
Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable.
Can I make a reservation for more than one person?
The USC student, faculty, and staff RSVP link allows one ticket reservation per valid USC ID. USC students, staff, and faculty can make a reservation for a guest through the general public reservation link. The general public and alumni reservation links allow individuals to reserve up to two tickets per reservation.
Will I receive a confirmation for my reservation?
Yes. You will receive an email with the details of your reservation. A week before the event you will receive another email asking you to confirm your reservation. You must click on the “confirm” link to finalize your reservation. If you can no longer attend, please delete your reservation. A final reminder will be sent to all confirmed ticket holders the day before an event.
I accidentally deleted my reservation. What do I do?
Email us as soon as possible at email@example.com. If your reservation shows up in our system as deleted, we can change your reservation status to ticketed.
I made a reservation for an event but have not yet received an email notice that my reservation went through. Did my reservation go through?
Please check your spam folder. If the email is not in your spam folder, it is possible that your email address was entered incorrectly when you made your reservation. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org about your reservation if you cannot find the RSVP notice.
Where do I pick up my tickets?
Check-in details are included in your reservation confirmation email and in the final reminder email. Tickets are generally available for pickup at the event check-in 30 to 45 minutes prior to the event start time. In order to claim your ticket, a picture ID is required. With the exception of tickets that have been purchased, tickets must be picked up at least ten minutes prior to the event start time. Otherwise, the tickets may be released to standby.
Can I get my tickets in advance?
No. Tickets are available for pick-up at the event check-in only.
Can I reserve my seats in advance?
Seating is first-come, first-served for most Visions and Voices events. For events in Bovard Auditorium, seating is assigned in the orchestra section and general admission in the balconies and is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
I have a reservation for an event but can no longer attend. A friend of mine is on the waitlist and would like to use my ticket. Can I transfer my ticket?
Unfortunately, tickets are non-transferable.
How do I cancel my reservation?
If you cannot attend an event, please click on the reservation code you received in your original reservation email and delete your reservation. Or, please let us know directly by sending an email to email@example.com.
I didn’t make a reservation. Can I still come to the event?
Yes. For events that are not full, rush tickets will be available at the door. For events that are full, tickets often become available due to no-shows. Unclaimed tickets will be distributed on a standby basis. Note: only USC students with valid ID may attend Experience L.A. events on standby.
Will our seats be together if we’ve made separate reservations?
Seating at most events is general admission. For events with assigned seating, if you check in together, you will be able to sit together.
I am on the waitlist for an event. When will I be notified if a ticket becomes available?
Generally, tickets are made available to those on the waitlist two to seven days before an event. Waitlist notifications are sent by email and must be accepted by clicking on the “confirm” link at least one day before the event. If space does not open up prior to the event, you will receive a waitlist update email regarding your ticket status as well as details on attending the event on standby.
I am not a USC student. Can I reserve a ticket for an Experience L.A. event?
No. Experience L.A. events are open to current USC students only with valid ID.
Can I make a group reservation for my class/residence hall/student organization?
When possible, we are happy to accommodate USC classes and groups at our events. Non-USC group reservations may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for details. Group reservations are not available for Experience L.A. events.
Where do I park?
There are several parking structures available on the USC campuses. For directions to USC and parking information, go to: http://web-app.usc.edu/maps/. On-campus parking is $12 per car.

EVENT PROPOSALS & ARTIST INQUIRIES
How are Visions and Voices events selected?
The majority of Visions and Voices events are proposed a year in advance through a competitive faculty grant process and through the Visions and Voices deans’ council. Preliminary faculty proposals are due at the beginning of October. For details, please see the Request For Proposals here. Signature and Experience L.A. events are programmed by Visions and Voices. All Visions and Voices events are designed to help USC students expand their perspectives and explore USC’s core values, such as freedom of inquiry, respect for diversity, informed risk taking, and the search for truth.
I am a USC student or staff member. Can I propose a Visions and Voices event?
We encourage you to partner with a USC faculty member to propose an event.
I am from another USC department and presenting an event on campus. Can Visions and Voices co-sponsor?
Visions and Voices is unable to provide funding for events outside of our grant-proposal cycle. However, we may be able to add your program as a Visions and Voices affiliated event and provide promotional support, including web and email listings. In order to be considered, the event must be an arts- or humanities-based event that is free for students and engages USC’s core values. The event should not conflict with an already scheduled Visions and Voices event. Send affiliated-event inquiries to Daria Yudacufski at email@example.com.
I am an artist and would like to be presented by Visions and Voices. How can I submit my work?
Most Visions and Voices events are proposed through a faculty grant process and therefore require a faculty partnership. See our Request for Proposals here for details. If you believe that your work fits the Visions and Voices criteria and would be appropriate for a Visions and Voices signature event (typically, a large-scale program that embodies the Visions and Voices mission) or for our annual kickoff event, SPARK!, send your information to Daria Yudacufski at firstname.lastname@example.org.
